For this dress, we chose “harbor blue” Satin Silk fabric; a One-piece dress, with full hand-embroidery on the upper part. A Semi-circular skirt, a high-neck top, with fitted full sleeves, and clipped wristbands.
On top, a detachable skirt full of embroidery from the Hebron area- Palestine, is worn to add the heaviness and prosperous look, just like the embroidery used, like the leeches motif that was embroidered on traditional thobes and dresses in the Hebron area, because women at that time thought it would give them good health, prosperity and longevity.
Different motifs were used all over this heavily embroidered dress, such as the walls of Jerusalem, the scissors, Basha tents, the leeches -head of the horse motif in other sources- all in bright red, and orange colors.
The dress is fully hand-embroidered by Saru fashion elite team in Gaza refugee camp - Jerash, Jordan.
The time needed for completion is 6 weeks.
